Given Name
Back| Family Name | Passport Number | Passport Expiry | Date of Birth | Nationality | Country of Birth You must enter the Given Names exactly as they are shown on the title page of your passport. Even if you have changed your name since the issue of your passport, you must enter the details as shown in the passport. You may use the letters A to Z, hyphen (-), apostrophe (') and space. Please do not include qualifiers such as Snr, Jnr, Esq, PhD or 3rd as part of your name. Given Names are sometimes called Christian Names. In some cultures,
Given Names appear to be the main name; the Family Name is rarely used
in day to day conversation. Most passports will show both the Given
Names and the Family Name. There may be more than one Given Name. Use the name(s) exactly as shown in your passport, even if you use nicknames or modified versions of the first name as common practice. If you have more than one Given Name, enter them all (provided they are shown in the passport) and leave a space between each name. If you have a hyphenated Given Name (eg. Klaus-Dieter) enter it with a hyphen but no spaces. If you have no Given Name, enter only a hyphen (-) At present, only the standard Roman characters used by the English alphabet are accepted by the Internet ETA System. Japanese, Arabic, Thai, Chinese, Greek and other non-Roman character sets are not accepted. Please make certain your computer is set up to accommodate this. Similarly, modified Roman characters (such as the German Umlaut) are not accepted. If you usually translate a character like 'ß' to 'ss', you may enter this translation into the system.
